Its plainly clear that we’re not up-to-date on this blog and I apologize for that.
I would like to let you know that there are Big Umbrella Artists hanging at some pretty prominent spots throughout the city. Caleb Sheridan is showing at Cafe Revolution;Devon Ellis is up on the walls at Socha Cafe. Gavin Lord is up at Blue Jay Cafe and Kat Horn’s work is hanging in Alamo Square Seafood Grill- though those shows are about to come down (so you better hurry).
Big Umbrella Studios presents Kat Horn: a new show featuring Kat, as well as work from our 20 resident artists. the show will open this Friday the 11th, with a Reception from 7pm to midnight.
Big Umbrella Studios is proud announce two new locations. Well sort of. We have paired up with BlueJay Café and Alamo Square Seafood Grill and will be presenting big umbrella artist showcases at both locations.

Alamo Square Seafood Grill 803 Fillmore St.

This year, on May 10th, people everywhere were a part of ‘Pangea Day’ - a worldwide film event that we participated in by hosting a small screening at the gallery. Consequently, we were featured in an episode of ‘The Great Village.’ Check it out!
Hey all- Just wanted to thank you for coming to our show last friday, it was a lot of fun! Thanks Blue Jay Cafe for hosting another after party, hopefully we’ll keep that going… its great to have a place to hang out after our show.
If you missed us on Friday night, remember, the artwork will still hang for another month or so. Come on by and check it out
So its that time of the month again- time for a new Big Umbrella show. It opens on Friday the 13th (oooo… spooky). Its an all member show and we’ve already received some great pieces for it. We’ve got a lot of work to do before then, but it’ll all come together in true Big Umbrella Studios fashion…
So obviously we’re still working on our website…. yeah….. You see, we’ve wanted to complete our website the same way we’ve done everything at Big Umbrella Studios: in house. Basically this means that it takes about 10x as long, and will go through a dozen different iterations before we’re finally happy with it- and then we’ll probably change it again…
We’re basically thinking this section will become a place that will update our fans on what we’re up to artistically: both in and out of the gallery.
Our next show opens up on Friday the 13th (of June)… We’re designing the flyer, and we’ll post that up as soon as we’re finished with it…
Stay tuned as we’ll post awesome things here in the very near future…
